How to style pink 5 ways

Hi my lovelies I thought I'd put together a quick mini guide on how to style the colour pink 5 different ways including the outfit links just in case your in the mood to shop. Pink is my all time favourite spring/summer colour especially pastel pink so you'll definitely see me living in this colour throughout our quarantine summer. So without further ado...

I absolutely ADORE these pink trousers and love how flattering they are. I relish in how versatile these pair of trousers are and can be worn multiple ways one way being smart casual. This is the perfect outfit for the office as the pink trousers brightens the whole ensemble. Pair it with an everyday white shirt and you really can't go wrong. Going along with the theme of smart casual a pair of nude (or either white) loafers ties the whole outfit effortlessly. You could either add a pink bag to this but I opted for a white boxy bag with subtle printed blue handles. These pink trousers have definitely got me lusting after a pink suit!!

Another way to wear pink is very simply and casually by throwing on some blue mom jeans giving the outfit a more relaxed popping out for errands vibe. I'm currently re-vamping my wardrobe and found once I had a huge clear out that I seriously lacked in the tops department. So on my venture of buying more affordable yet fun tops I stumbled across this vibrant balloon sleeved textured pink top from Shein. I find that they have such a diverse range of tops and the best thing is that they're super affordable on the pocket. Just chuck on your favourite pair of comfortable sandals and you're good to go.

I've obsessively spoken about this skirt in a previous post but another way to style this beautiful skirt is chucking on a relatively warm jumper on especially because the spring in Britain can still be chilly majority of the time. Wearing a warn knit allows you not requiring a jacket to brace the British weather. This jumper was actually longer and for this outfit I wanted the jumper to appear more cropped. Therefore, I significantly rolled it inwards and tucked it in only on the sides and a tiny bit at the back so it didn't appear bulgy through my skirt. I've styled down this outfit by adding a pair of chunky white trainers and a matching white envelope clutch.

I'm currently infatuated with blazers and think they well and truly spruce any outfit, upgrading the entire look significantly and gives any outfit a more structured feel. I actually struggled of thinking of different ways to style this particular pink blazer but soon realised you can always rely on a neutral base when it comes to adding a pop of pink (or any colour for that matter) to your outfit. I went for a more sophisticated feel with these tailored white trousers and a fitted v neck white top. You could easily rock this outfit to a dinner swapping the loafers for a pair of nude heels (or you could stick with the loafers).

And we have the show stopper outfit from my mini styling series which is this B E A U T I F U L pink tiered smock dress. This particular dress was designed by yours truly and I just wanted touch on the process a little so you ladies could also attempt in designing and even making your summer wardrobes. It all starts with sourcing the fabric which is more inexpensive than you think. I brought 4 metres of fabric not knowing what my plan was with it. My top tip with fabric would be to buy more than you need just incase it doesn't work out or if your ideas change because you might never be able to get that exact fabric again. So for 4 metres of fabric this cost me £4. Yes you heard me right that's £1 per metre of fabric!

I then start researching what I want to do with the fabric so because I brought 4 metres I knew roughly I wanted some sort of dress. So I start researching different necklines front and back, how I want the arms and the overall style and design of the dress to be. I usually create a mood board for my idea's allowing me to visualise what the dress will look like when it comes together. As I go along I refine my mood board of idea's that I think will work best. For this dress I sent my mood board to a tailor in India to get stitched and this was the final outcome.

I find comfort in designing clothes that are currently in trend whilst adding my own twist in there. The silver lining of this whole process is that it costs a fraction of the price to what you would be paying in high street stores. I relish in the fact that these simple designs result in clothes that you can't get from the high street adding an element of originality to my wardrobe and not worrying that 10 other people might have the same dress.

Summer outfit guide

Hi my lovelies, today I'm coming at you from a different angle and that's fashionnnnn. I can't explain how excited I am to put together this little look book for you guys. I usually compile these outfit inspiration guides to gear you up for your upcoming holidays which doesn't look like its on the cards for anyone this year and that's absolutely fine (I guess its something we all have to accept and come to terms with). But who's to say we can't look or feel good whilst being quarantined. I've also noticed that a lot of stores online have got some amazing sales and offers going on so it seems like the perfect time to seize that opportunity and start revamping your summer wardrobe. 

I've always really enjoyed incorporating a pop of colour in my summer outfits especially this beautiful yellowy/mustard throw on jumpsuit that compliments tanned skin exceptionally well. This outfit requires minimal effort whilst making you feel very put together and is perfect for the summer as its loose and extremely comfortable. I paired this jumpsuit with minimal accessories such as this cream bum bag with gold detailing allowing the jumpsuit to do all the talking. Bum bags are not only practical (especially when on holiday) but really sinched this jumpsuit around the waist providing a more overall fitted appearance. Satin skirts were one of the biggest trends of last year summer and is a prominent trend that refuses to be left back in 2019. I absolutely love how they drape across your bottom half ever so effortlessly making your outfit look so expensive. I find that satin skirts can be styled in so many ways whether that's with an off the shoulder top for the summer, or paired with a grey jumper for autumn making satin skirts a VERY diverse piece in your wardrobe. My skirt was grabbed from the Zara sales for a bargain price of £9 but a similar skirt can be found here.

I paired this pink with straw accessories which has been such a MASSIVE spring/summer trend for the past few years. I find that a neutral straw handbag is such a timeless piece adding texture to an outfit and can be paired with absolutely anything due to its neutral nature. I brought mine from the markets in Bangkok but a similar bag can be found here.

Carrying on with the theme of straw accessories I absolutely fell in L O V E with these beauties. I just adore how these were SO different and unique to any pair of sandal that was out there and for me its so important to have pieces in my summer wardrobe that the majority doesn't have. I am beyond excited to pull them out this summer!! A similar pair can be found here. A good thing about the company BOHOpeach on Etsy is that they can custom make your straw sandals to your preference!

         

This was by far my favourite summer dress that I was fortunate enough to design myself, all the way from sourcing the fabric to producing a rough idea of how I wanted the dress to look like. I based the style of the dress on the infamous high low style where the length of the dress would be slightly longer at the back compared to the front. I also decided to added ruffles at the bottom of the dress giving it that extra flow at the bottom and lastly flowy arms to match the bottom of the dress. I've always been so passionate about creating my own clothes as I've come to find that its extremely hard to find pieces that fit me really well, unique fabrics and clothing that is compatible with my style.

         

Would you believe me if I told you that I got this dress from H&M for only £9? That is the power of shopping in the sales you honestly find the best bargains when you're least looking for it. I absolutely loved this bright red dress that had this pleated detailing on the lower half of the dress. This detailing continued with a subtle frill around the neck and with the sinched wrist detailing. Again I find the easiest things to style especially in summer to be dresses as they're so easy to throw on. A similar dress can be found here. Equally this dress can also make the perfect evening dress if you swap out the sandals for a pair of nude heels and the bag for an evening clutch.

I paired the dress with a mustard/yellow pair of sandals from Primark. Just as a top tip Primark release amazing pair of sandals every year which are super affordable so your never really paying a fortune for your summer sandals. A very identical pair of sandals can be found here.

I don't know if you remember around 3 years ago these wooden structured satchel's made an appearance and literally every fashion blogger owned one. But they were so expensive priced at around £300. I've now realised that you don't necessarily have to jump on the bandwagon there and then because most likely stores like miss guided, Boohoo and PLT will always bring out knock off versions for a fraction of the price. Again this can literally be paired with anything although I have to say its not the most practical or comfortable bag to carry around all day but hey we do it for the gram, am I right? I absolutely love bold prints but at times they can be most difficult prints to style because the print itself can be so overwhelming. I brought this dress from markets in Bangkok and love the relaxed fit to it and its powerful flowy sleeves which gave me HUGE inspiration in creating some of my summer dresses last year. I find with bold prints its important to find a print that can be easily styled with similar coloured accessories to tie the whole outfit together. So when looking for printed pieces try keep this in mind. I coordinated this dress with a small delicate gold necklace, plain black sandals and this beautiful wicker boxed bag which similar one can be found here.

Following with the theme of bold prints these pair of trousers were another one of my creations. I instantly fell in love with this fabric when my grandma brought it home to make herself an Indian suit out of it. Even though the trousers are more of a subtle print than the one above I matched the trousers with this simple cami from Asos but these types of tops can be found anywhere (cheaper alternatives can be located in Primark). I matched my trousers with yellow sandals to highlight the tiny bit of yellow within the print but alternatively you could either wear white or cream sandals with this allowing the trousers to be brought into the limelight.

       

If you haven't already guessed I'm all about comfortable clothing and this red jumpsuit is no different.  This comfy flared jumpsuit from New Look is the most comfiest yet flattering jumpsuits I own. I'm wearing a size 8 here for reference but I would have sized down to 6 to give it a more fitted look. I love how the belt sinches in my waist giving my top half a more tailored look. Again because of the bold colour its best to coordinate more neutral accessories with it.

Item numero 3 that was made by yours truly. I naturally gravitate towards bright colours, bright prints when it comes to summer especially when it comes to my holiday wardrobe and find that they're so effortless and extremely enjoyable to style. Sticking with my styling rule of pairing similar coloured accessories with bright coloured prints allowed the entire outfit to possess an element of consistency. I wholeheartedly believe that handbags and shoes can upgrade your outfit significantly. My go to top tip for bags is if you're not into holding your handbags you can easily attach a long gold chain turning it into a crossbody bag making it more practical and hands free. As you've seen satin slip dresses were a colossal trend last summer and I freaking lived for them. Holy shit they looked classy, effortless and expensive as hell. Although I didn't get my hands on the typical style slip dress I did get my hands on this very diverse version of the trend. This beauty of a piece was from Zara which encompasses this subtle, small keyhole slit with the neckline wrapping around your neck. This is one my all time favourite elegant dresses and I will never tire wearing it.

I wanted to quickly touch on a topic that's not fashion related whatsoever but thought it was an appropriate time to quickly discuss it. As a lot of you may know I don't remove my hair due to being a practising Sikh so I bet that your all wondering how do I wear sleeveless stuff? To all my ladies out there this isn't something to be embarrassed about and I know that's so much easier said than done. God knows it took me the best part of 5 years to start feeling comfortable with my body hair and eventually embracing it. I used to have to wear leggings underneath my trousers because I was under the impression that it wasn't a social norm to not remove my hair. But to my beautiful ladies that are going through this struggle my advice would be embrace your hair because boy its so empowering and to trust the process because its a long and gradual journey.

Majority of my outfits have revolved around dresses and jumpsuits so here's a more casual outfit that can be worn on holiday, popping to the shops or even to a family barbecue. Wide flared trousers are a must in summer and can LITERALLY be combined with anything. When working with flared bottoms you always want your top half to be more tailored/fitted giving the whole outfit the perfect balance. A cream version of these trousers can be found here. Last but not least, off the shoulder has been in craze since forever and is a trend that I don't ever plan on dropping. I just feel like you can never go wrong with off the shoulder and can either dress it down or dress it up. Like this simple dress is so versatile and can be worn to evening drinks like it was here or just chucking it on to a family gathering. I just feel like you can't have enough dresses and an off the shoulder dress is one of those. A similar dress can be found here.

Summer Style Inspiration

Inspired by my previous summer holiday guide I am coming at you ladies with a comprehensive guide compiled with my favourite outfits for this summer. So without further ado...

Whenever I'm in a hot country I base ALL my outfits around being loose and comfortable and is literally a mantra that I adopt whilst doing my packing. Here I paired some simple black and white stripey culottes from Zara with a super affordable £2 tee from Primark which is ridiculously comfy. What I loved about this outfit was it was one of those 'throw together' looks which can be jazzed up with the right accessories.

This by far has to be my favourite summer dress due to its easy throw on nature. The long line off the shoulder dress was grabbed in the asos sales. Not only was the fit of the outfit so flattering with my body shape but the colour complemented my tanned skin SO SO well. I literally cannot wait to pull it out this summer. I paired the dress with a simple white envelope clutch that had a gold handle at the top which emphasised the white polka dots from my dress.

Prior to wearing this outfit for the longest time ever, I really found white trousers extremely difficult to style and felt like I never had the 'perfect' top to go with it. White trousers is such a staple item to have in your wardrobe and it went perfectly with this textured red off the shoulder top. Both items were found in the H&M sales (yes you can get some really good summer pieces in the sale if you look hard enough). This outfit can be worn casually in the day with a pair of sandals or could be jazzed up for the evening as I have here with a pair of pearl and grey velvet low block heel. Personally heels KILL my feet so if your like me, a low block heel would be the no brainer option for the evening.

Lately I've been loving Primark and their random sales and it so happened that I stumbled across these £4 pair of green culottes. Generally I am obsessed with incorporating colour into my holiday outfits and this was the perfect find. Paired with a loose white top also from Primark allowed all the attention to be diverted to the colours within my outfit. Bum bags been 'in' for the past 6 months and it was time for me to jump on the bandwagon. My mustard coloured bum bag was sourced from mango at £13 (can you guys tell I only shop in the sales). Last but not least I added another element of colour with my sandals from H&M. These easy blue bow shaped slip ons really tied my whole outfit together.

I just find Bardot tops so flattering and really easy to pair with literally anything. This frilly black and white stripey bardot top was complimented with a deep burnt orange pleated trousers from Primark and makes for the best day time outfit for your all important sight seeing. Lately, I really have a thing for unique bags as I find that accessories can either make or break your outfit. I was really drawn to the printed handles of this bag and thought it flawlessly completed my outfit.

Evening outfits is something I struggle with all the time especially when I can't seem to find appropriate or modest dresses. Therefore co-ords are your next best thing. This co-ord from Shein was super flattering with its V neckline top and high waisted trousers. I love that these items can also be worn separately really maximising your outfit choices. Because the bold print of the co-ord I paired the outfit with some simple nude heels and was good to go.

Italy lookbook

Today I am coming at you guys with something different from my usual posts...an Italian lookbook ranging from a variety of outfits and style inspiration. As an individual who seeks to dress modestly whilst trying to look relatively stylish proves to be challenging due to little modest inspiration that is out there. So with further ado I present you modest influence. Alongside my looks I will incorporate my friends outfits for those who have diverse style than mine and hope to take fashion insight from them.

1. Milan

Summer prints are a staple in virtually everyones wardrobe and is a definite must have piece to wear on your summer holidays. My trousers I have had for years and originally they were palazzo trousers but I decided to turn them up and turn them into culottes (with the help of my grandma of course). I paired my topshop trousers with a simple white top from primark as I wanted the summery print to stand out and take all the limelight. Prior to my holiday I had been looking for the perfect sandal to take on holiday that would match all my outfits and I happened to find that pair in H&M for £13. I just loved the overlapping shoe detail and of course the versatile colour. In terms of accessories I coordinated a small pink across the body bag from topshop that really highlighted the pink detailing  from my trousers.

In this picture you can see the detailing of my necklace of choice better. This particular necklace from Cath Kidston was the perfect accessory adding an element of vibrancy and generally tying in together all the colours of the outfit.

Now we all know that the all white look is the most hardest outfits to pull off but my friend pulled this off so effortlessly, creating a crisp yet a minimalistic look. The off the shoulder top from misguided at £12 is such a flattering piece and with the flared arms adds an extra pizzazz to such a simple outfit. The trousers and shoes were sourced from Primark costing a grand total of £15 for the two items. Yes, I know what all your thinking...all these pieces from Primark?! I was just as shocked as you but clearly they have some outstanding items in their summer collection. Lastly, the white clutch completing the outfit from New look came with a cheap price tag of £16 indicating that you can buy an affordable outfit that is fitting for the fashion capital of Italy.

This outfit follows a similar pattern as the one above but this time has a splash of colour breaking up the palate of creams and white.


2. Venice

Stripes are a necessity in everyones wardrobe as it is so easy to style and chuck together in any situation whether that may be on holiday, casually or formally. The stripey Zara find was the perfect length for me whilst fitting me like a glove. I paired it with a white sheer shirt (which you can find literally anywhere) however undid the top few buttons giving it a more relaxed look.

Here you can see my necklace in greater aspect with the integrated blue tones that complimented the blue in my skirt. My go to pair of sunglasses were the round raybans again providing that versatile function for every outfit that I wore.

This pink on pink look encompasses a dress, a piece yet again from Primark. The dress entails florals which again is a print that you can not go wrong with at any time of the year especially the summer. The V neck adds a more flattering touch to the neck and chest giving it an overall perfect fit.

The floral theme continues with this relaxed floral kimono which adds an extra layer of pattern to the outfit. Due to the hot weather you can opt to wear this outfit with or without the kimono. The choice of accessory here was a bright pink side bag adding an aspect of colour brightening up the outfit. This particular outfit is more dressed down with the Primark dupe of converses bringing an element of comfort.

In this shot you are more able to see the lace texture of the bralet paired with navy blue culottes. This outfit proves that it can be dressed down or dressed up depending on the function.


3. Genoa

It was a personal goal of mine to combine more colour into my summer wardrobe and I instantly fell in love with this full length dress from Zara. Although it was £40 (considering I am a person who solely shops in sales) it was definitely an investment piece that is versatile to day or night wear. This dress for sure left me feeling like a sunflower and was the most flattering tone of yellow on my skin colour. In this case I have used my side bag as a clutch providing a multi functional purpose.

This pop of pink in the wide legged trousers is a stand out piece demonstrating a more bold look which can be worn on evenings out, on holiday or to a fancy dinner. Because of the sheer brightness of the trousers it is best to pair it with any form of a white top to balance the colours and ultimately let the pink take the stage.

The last look of the trip is this playful playsuit which is a deep burnt orange in colour and is an excellent beach outfit to get your tan on (that is if you haven't brought appropriate beach attire). it is such an easy throw on piece making this literally an effortless outfit.
